the only family there and that he originates from Switzerland, in the Alsalce-Lorraine
Region in the town of Metz.
Karl Gailer, in New Zealand, thinks his dad is the first Gailer in New Zealand.
James Gailer, in St. Albans, England, has an entire database of Gailer's, and names from a
book that Burke's Peerage did, which shows the majority of Gailer's originating and
residing in Germany! His family believes that the name is derived from "Gaelor",
or Jailer.
